In the past few weeks, the rapid spread of the virus has been contained and we are returning to a new daily routine with cautious relaxation. A balance must be maintained between health protection and public and economic life.
We still face new challenges every day for which there is no experience to fall back on. We will continue to monitor the situation around COVID-19 and provide you with information about current developments here. When we make decisions, our primary concern is the health and safety of our employees, customers, and business partners. Our top priority is to continue to keep the spread of the coronavirus under control.
As a responsible employer and reliable partner to our customers, we have already taken many precautionary measures. For a brief summary of the most important information, see below:
We are doing everything we can to continue producing in our factories for as long as possible in order to provide reliable, on-time deliveries to our customers.
At our other production sites, we are implementing the recommendations of national and international authorities together with our works councils. We have implemented a series of safety measures to protect our employees and have also divided up our production areas into zones that are separated from each other.
On June 02, 2020, we were able to resume production at our plant F. Morat Sistemas de México, S. de R.L. de C.V. As the Mexican government had declared a health emergency on March 31, 2020, all non-systemically relevant companies had to temporarily shut down production.
Several weeks ago, we set up a task force that maintains constant contact with our suppliers and actively monitors and safeguards our supply chain. At this time, we only anticipate isolated constraints to the supply chain. At this time, we anticipate isolated constraints to the supply chain. We still must assume that we will be confronted with increased supply bottlenecks in the coming weeks. Therefore, we ask you to communicate your needs to us early on. We will continue to monitor the situation very closely. And of course we will keep you up-to-date.
In order to protect our customers, business partners, and employees, we have reduced personal contact to a minimum. Until further notice, we will largely replace our travel activities and on-site customer appointments with online meetings and conference calls. We have also temporarily reduced the number of on-site measures to only those that are absolutely essential – such as maintenance or repairs. We will coordinate closely with our business partners in advance.
